NELA-PS

The NELA-PS dataset was developed by the College of Information Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, to investigate the phenomenon of pink-slime journalism in local news ecosystems. This dataset contains over 7.9 million articles spanning 2.5 years, sourced from 1,093 pink-slime journalism outlets. During the dataset construction process, the research team collected articles via the RSS feeds of each news source, ensuring the comprehensiveness and timeliness of the data. The dataset is primarily utilized to analyze the production strategies of pink-slime journalism and its role in local information spaces, facilitating understanding of the impact of automated news content on public information consumption.
