16S rRNA sequencing of colon contents in hyperuricemia mice

Hyperuricemia is a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated serum uric acid levels. Fucoidan, which possesses various physiological functions, has been shown to lower uric acid levels and improve kidney function, but its anti-hyperuricemia effects and mechanisms are not yet fully understood. 16S rRNA sequencing was used to analyze the composition of the gut microbiota through which fucoidan ameliorates hyperuricemia.
