资源简介:
This collection contains text documents and images from a descriptive building recording carried out by The Archaeology Co. at Beech Grove Farm, Malley Lane, Cuddy Hill, Woodplumpton, Preston, Lancashire, on 16 August 2024. Floor plans and a representative cross-section were produced on site using AutoCAD, with measurements taken by hand tapes (5m and 50m) and distometers as appropriate. The drawn record illustrates all features of interest recorded photographically, as well as other historically significant elements necessary to place them in context. The building appears to have been constructed in the early to mid-19th century as a double-pile house, extended shortly afterward to the west with the addition of a porch and stairwell. The barn was added by 1895, and Building S (constructed as a shippon) was in place before 1955. The remaining Buildings E and F, along with the eastern extension, were added by 1962.</p>
