CsCuCl₃ and CsCoCl₃ are triangular lattice antiferromagnets (TLAs) with complex magnetic phases due to geometrical frustration. CsCuCl₃ features quantum phase transitions and chiral helimagnetic structures, while CsCoCl₃ shows domain-wall solitons and spin-wave excitations with two distinct magnetic transitions at 20 K and 8 K. However, the magnetic ground states of these systems remain unclear. This proposal aims to investigate the spin dynamics and magnetic excitations in CsCuCl₃ and CsCoCl₃ via inelastic neutron scattering (INS) using the MARI spectrometer. We will focus on low-energy excitations to understand quantum fluctuations, the role of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction in stabilizing chiral magnetic structures, and solitonic excitations in CsCoCl₃. Measurements will be performed at multiple temperatures and energies (5–30 meV) to capture detailed spin dynamics. The study will provide key insights into the magnetic behaviour of these frustrated systems, advancing the understanding of TLAs. We request five days of beam time on the MARI spectrometer to complete this investigation.
