The data include the spike count responses recorded from each monkey, organized into two 2-dimensional matrices as the responses of Nunits (rows) to Mdatapoints (columns) where Mdatapoints = 1600. DataM1.csv includes data from monkey 1, where Nunits = 108, and DataM2.csv includes data from monkey 2, where nUnits = 96. The 1600 Mdatapoints correspond to 4 targets * 4 objects * 5 transformations * 20 repeated trials, and the 1600 columns are organized by keeping targets, then objects, then transforms, then trials adjacent (i.e. columns 1–4 correspond to targets 1–4, object 1, transform 1, trial 1; columns 5–8 correspond to targets 1–4, object 2, transform 1, trial 1, etc.). The Matlab commands to read and reformat these files into matrices organized as Nunits * 4 targets * 4 objects * 5 transformations * 20 repeated trials are (e.g. for Monkey 1): “DataM1 = csvread(‘DataM1.csv’);”, “M1 = reshape(DataM1,size(DataM1,1),4,4,5,20);”. Spikes were counted from 80 to 250 ms following stimulus onset, and were extracted from trials with correct responses. (ZIP)
