资源简介:
Archaeological Research Services Ltd was commissioned in October 2019 by Amdec Industrial Products Ltd to undertake a historic building recording of the heritage structures at Dinting Vale Business Park, Dinting, Glossop, Derbyshire. The historic building recording was undertaken to discharge conditions 3-5 of the planning permission (Application Ref. No. HPK/2017/0693) prior to renovation and construction of office space and car parking. The structure at Dinting Vale Business Park is what remains of the south eastern extent of Edmund Potter's Dinting Vale Print Works, at one point the largest calico-printing works in the world. The majority of the structures within the site were largely demolished by 2000, though one partial structure still survives in situ. Historic mapping and analysis of the historic fabric reveal that this building forms part of the first phase of expansion of the printing works towards the south east. Works undertaken throughout the 20th and 21st centuries have resulted in the loss of the majority of the printing works, including adapting the remaining structure for reuse. This reuse has led to the loss of fixtures and features relating to the original function of the building.
