In the present study, shotgun metagenomic sequencing was employed to compare the gut microbiomes of two biological replicates of B. tabaci Asia II-1. By combining alpha diversity metrics, rarefaction curves, and COG- and KEGG-based functional annotations, this study provides a quantitative assessment of microbial richness, diversity, and functional potential within this economically important pest.
