Data, materials, and analysis code for "When Losses Loom Larger: Motivated Trust in an AI Agent Among Managers"

This repository contains the anonymized data, study materials, and R analysis code for a field study on motivated trust in an AI agent. During the voluntary introduction of an AI agent for performance-review preparation in an IT services company, 102 managers (53 non-users, 49 users) completed an online survey on anticipated or experienced losses and gains, their overall benefit assessment, trust in the AI agent, propensity to trust AI, and intention to use the agent. The repository includes (1) the anonymized raw data and codebook, (2) the questionnaire and item list (German original and English translation), (3) R scripts for data cleaning, descriptive statistics, measurement models, regression analyses with interactions, robustness checks, and a multi-group structural equation model as a sensitivity analysis, and (4) the full output of all analyses. Data were collected between January and April 2026. The study was approved by the ethics committee of the authors' institution.
