Emory_U_Mouse_LCA_RCA_Endothelium_Ligation_Ator_Exp1

This project is a collaboration between Dr. Jo at Emory U and BMS to identify the mechanosensitive genes that are also statin-sensitive in C57/Bl6 mouse carotid endothelium. At two days before surgery, mice were treated with atorvastatin (10mg/Kg body weight/day) or vehicle by daily oral administration. Subsequently partial ligation surgery of LCA (left common carotid artery) was performed on all the mice. Endothelial RNAs were isolated at 12h, 24h, 48h and 2 weeks from LCA and the control RCA from each mouse. Transcriptional profiling will be carried out with Affymetrix chip to compare the gene expression under various conditions.
