资源简介:
The ADT-HURSAT dataset is a climatology of tropical cyclone intensity estimates. This dataset applies the Advanced Dvorak Technique (ADT) to Hurricane Satellite (HURSAT) data, producing a record of climate quality storm intensity estimates from 1979 through 2024. The HURSAT dataset used in ADT-HURSAT is derived from the International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP) B1 data, with storms initially identified and given storm ids by the International Best Track Archive for Climate Stewardship (IBTrACS), and is homogeneous over the period of record. The ADT is a computer based algorithm for determining tropical cyclone intensity from satellite imagery, developed at University of Wisconsin-Madison/Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (UW/CIMSS). The algorithm uses objective techniques to determine the initial storm center and derives the intensity from a regression-based scheme based on the Dvorak technique, throughout the tropical cyclone (TC) lifecycle. The HURSAT history files were created using HURSAT Version 07b netCDF files and IBTrACS v04r01. The ADT-Version 9.0 was employed to derive the intensity estimates in this data set.
