资源简介:
We propose a dedicated Parkes/Murriyang timing campaign of the newly confirmed narrow-duty cycle (~6 %) millisecond pulsar (MSP) PSR J2147-3604. This source was identified in a reprocessing of the Green Bank North Celestial Cap (GBNCC) survey as a high-confidence candidate with a spin period of 3.2 ms, and a dispersion measure, DM of 17 pc/cc. The pulsar was subsequently confirmed by the Fermi--TRAPUM collaboration via MeerKAT beamforming localisation and Parkes follow-up. Parkes/UWL observations allocated using green time detected this pulsar between 700--1500~MHz, and confirmed that it's in a binary system. Due to its low DM, we also detected strong interstellar scintillation. We request 35~hr of Murriyang time using the UWL receiver and APOLLO backend to obtain a phase-coherent timing solution and to characterise its spin, orbital, and propagation properties. Since the pulsar is also associated with a FERMI source, a precise radio ephemeris will also enable sensitive searches for gamma-ray pulsations in Fermi-LAT data and assess PSR J2147-3604's suitability for pulsar timing arrays (PTAs) and future gamma-ray timing applications.
