Scone - Floodplain Management Study & Plan

Within __Chapter 2__, the characteristics of the study's catchments are described. This\r\nincludes land use, social profile, heritage and vegetation issues. A list of authorities\r\nand agencies who may be affected when flooding occurs in the catchment is also\r\nprovided.\r\n\r\n__Chapter 3__ outlines the information that was available for this study including mapping\r\nand previous studies. The flood damages data base (a description of all residential and\r\nbusiness properties in the Middle Brook, Kingdon Ponds, Parsons Gully and Figtree\r\nGully floodplains) is described, together with the community consultation strategy\r\nutilised in this study, and the results of the community questionnaire.\r\n\r\n__Chapter 4__ presents the assessment of flood behaviour within Figtree Gully which was\r\ncarried out within the study.\r\n\r\nA description of recent flood history, flood behaviour and the impacts and potential\r\ndamage caused by floods is provided in __Chapter 5__. __Chapter 6__ provides an overview\r\nof floodplain management including existing management measures, the selection of\r\nthe flood planning level and funding. __Chapter 6__ also details the methodology used for\r\nthe assessment of floodplain management options.\r\n\r\nThe range of floodplain management options that was examined for the Scone district,\r\nas part of this study, is described in __Chapter 7__.\r\n\r\n__Chapter 8__ outlines the Floodplain Management Plan for Scone, summarising the\r\nrecommendations of the study.\r\n\r\nA full list of references is provided in __Chapter 9__. An index of key words is contained\r\nin __Chapter 10__.\r\n\r\nA number of appendices are included. __Appendix A__ is the largest and comprises an extensive description of town planning issues.
