PIXE and SEM-EDX elemental data of human placental tissue

This dataset contains quantitative elemental analysis data obtained by Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) from two formaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded human placental tissue sections (samples S1 and S2). The dataset includes point-wise elemental concentrations (ng/mm²) for phosphorus (P), sulphur (S), chlorine (Cl), calcium (Ca), and iron (Fe) measured at 17 individual points per sample, as well as background measurements from clean Mylar foil. Additionally, coefficients of determination (R²) from linear regression analysis of inter-element correlations are provided.
