Carleton-sur-Mer Automatic Identification Systems Receiver Deployed 2016-01-01

The Coastguard AIS MMSI 003160163 was deployed on 2016-01-01 at Carleton-sur-Mer. Carleton-sur-Mer is the fifth largest town of the Gasp�sie's south shore, in southeastern Quebec. This device is a Automatic Identification Systems Receiver. Land-based Automatic Identification System (AIS) receivers provide data that track marine vessels within range of the receiver. The data are used to monitor, understand and mitigate the impacts of marine shipping activities. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
