Bacterial diversity of sediment water interface in shrimp culture ponds of varying salinities

The present study was conducted to understand the diversity of the bacterial communities at sediment water interface in shrimp culture ponds of varying salinities. Soil samples were collected at sediment water interface (SWI) from Penaeus vannnamei culture ponds with three salinities of 1 ppt (Low saline), 15 ppt (Brackishwater) and 45 ppt (High saline) in Tamil Nadu State of India during 30, 60 and 90 days of culture (DoC). Amplicon sequencing libraries targeting V3 region of 16s rRNA gene were sequenced on Illumina MiSeq platform.
