Microsporidia are a group of fungi-related obligate intracellular and unicellular parasites that infect a broad range of hosts. Nosema bombycis, the first reported Microsporidia by Louis Pasteur in 1857, can cause a highly fatal silkworm disease, pébrine. We used transcriptomic analyses to investigate the dynamic proliferation characteristics of N. bombycis and immune response during congenital infection in embryo and early larvae stages of host.
