Between March 9 and April 12, 2020, amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, the mobile traffic of the Facebook Messenger app in Mexico increased by 39 percent in comparison to the period from February 10 to March 8, 2020. Mexico is home to the second largest number of users of Messenger in Latin America and the Caribbean, only second to Brazil.
