Data from: Organic epidermal and cellular preservation in a 290-million-year-old amphibian unveils tetrapod skin evolution

This dataset compiles the images and data used in the preparation of the manuscript “Organic epidermal and cellular preservation in a 290-million-year-old amphibian unveils tetrapod skin evolution” by Antoine Logghe and co-authors. The dataset is organized into three folders: Images_used_in_figure_panels: contains the images used in the figure panels presented in the manuscript. Raw_and_preprocessed_data: contains the raw images and data, as well as pre-processed data used to generate the figure panels. R_scripts: contains the R scripts used to plot and/or process some of the data, and to generate some of the figure panels. Metadata are documented in the filenames, which include identifiers for the corresponding figure panel, the data type, whether the file contains raw or processed data, and—when applicable—the location of point analyses. Detailed descriptions of the methods used to collect and generate the data are provided in the manuscript. The R scripts are fully commented to document the data processing and plotting steps. To execute them, only a single line specifying the working directory (i.e., the location where the data are stored) needs to be modified, after which the remainder of the code can be run.
