NRS-806 | Treasurer's abstracts [Clergy and School Lands Corporation]

(4/381-87). 7 vols. Each volume contains a general account for the year with annual and quarterly abstracts on which the general account is based. The debit side of the general account of the Trustees shows income from various sources: the Colonial Treasury; borrowings on debentures; pew rents; and in later years, income from sale and lease of Corporation lands. The credit side of the general account shows quarterly expenditure for support of the Church establishment and of schools and school masters; also, annual expenditure on the Orphan and Aboriginal Schools and the Agricultural Establishment, and on the Management of the Corporation. The relevant abstracts are bound together with the general account for each year, and are arranged in an order corresponding to that in which the abstract totals appear on the credit side of the general account. Both the general accounts and the abstracts are signed by the acting accountant to the Corporation, and are countersigned by a Committee of Audit (headed by the Archdeacon), certifying that the vouchers referred to in the abstract have been examined and found to be correct.
