We report that loss of SET8 from cells leads to a global decrease in chromatin compaction status in G1 phase. Overall design: Double thymidine block synchronized U2OS cells were depleted with SET8, released from G1/S and harvested in subsequent G1 phase. 4 biological replicates of each control siRNA and SET8 siRNA were processed for ATAC-seq as described previously by Buenrostro J et al; 2015.
