资源简介:
Poor neighborhoods without sewers and with a high prevalence of infectious diseases in their population are ordinary in developing countries. It is common for residents in these neighborhoods to use water sources that are contaminated with fecal waste for recreational purposes. For these reasons we did a surveillance study in recreational waters of a small city with the characteristics mention above: Barros Blancos, Uruguay. This city is immersed in a semi-rural area with a significant number of precarious settlements without adequate sewage system. In this research we looking for the presence of five enteric virus: rotavirus (RV), norovirus (NoV), human adenovirus (HAdV), hepatitis E (HEV) and picobirnavirus (PBV). For this, 48 samples of recreational water were taken from 16 sites in three sampling campaign, each one with different climate condition. 52 mL of these samples were concentrated by ultracentrifugation method. The molecular characterisation was carried out for RV and PBV by PCR and the viral quantification was do for NoV, HAdV, RV and HEV by qPCR.
