The Acoustics of Remembrance: Spectral and Phonatory Signature of Mayabini

This repository contains the computational and acoustic analysis framework used in the study “The Acoustics of Remembrance: Spectral and Phonatory Signature of Mayabini.” It includes: Python scripts for audio preprocessing, vocal isolation, and spectral feature extraction: 1A-vocal-remover.py: Implements source separation techniques to isolate vocal components from mixed audio signals. 1A-Mayabini.py: Performs detailed acoustic analysis including spectral decomposition, formant tracking, and phonatory feature extraction. Audio datasets used in the analysis, comprising original and processed recordings of Mayabini, enabling reproducibility of spectral and temporal analyses. The pipeline integrates signal processing methods such as Fourier-based spectral analysis, filtering, and amplitude-envelope characterization to quantify phonatory signatures. All scripts are designed for reproducibility and can be executed with standard Python scientific libraries. This dataset and codebase support the study’s investigation into the acoustic structure, memory encoding, and perceptual characteristics of the vocal signal.
