A realistic mixture of Persistent Organic Pollutants affects zebrafish embryogenesis and behavior

A realistic mixture of Persistant Organic Pollutants (POPs), as found in the blood of a Scandinivian population, was used at realistic concentrations to evaluate developmental, behavioral, and gene expression modifications in zebrafish larvae. Overall design: Zebrafish embryos were treated with an artificial mixture of POPs, designed using data from blood serum contaminations in a Scandinavian population, at 0, 75x, or 125x the concentration found in the blood serum.
