1) Names, locations, outbreak times, disaster losses, event records, and data sources of historical major debris flow outbreak events along the main stream of Nujiang River in Yunnan Province; 2) This dataset was developed based on existing literature, combined with field surveys and interviews, as well as remote sensing interpretation; 3) This dataset updated the number of historical major debris flow outbreak events along the main stream of Nujiang River in Yunnan Province from 86 documented in previous literature to 134, thereby creating the most up-to-date event records for major debris flows along the main stream of Nujiang River in Yunnan Province, with specific gully locations identifiable for each recorded event. These data provide more comprehensive and detailed support for studies on the distribution patterns, dominant controlling factors and evolutionary trends of major debris flows along the main stream of Nujiang River, and offer data backing for risk prevention and control work carried out by local governments.
