SOLUTION: Provided are a method for increasing hyperosmotic resistance of a plant， which suppresses or inhibits the function of a protein encoded by the AT1G26300 gene of a plant or its homolog gene， and a plant in which the function of the protein encoded by the AT1G26300 gene or its homologue gene is suppressed or inhibited.
