These data are the result of phage display panning, using the NEB PhD-12 commerical kit, for 12-mer peptides that bind to proteins in the S100A5-S100A6 clade of the S100 protein family. Enriched pools of phage from several conditions were sequenced on the Illumina HiSeq 4000 system to generate high-throughput libraries of interacting peptides. We used these data in conjunction with phylogenetic reconstructions to study the evolution of protein-peptide interaction specificity in the S100 family.
