资源简介:
Here, we provide quantified CaCO3 production of planktonic foraminifer Neogloboquadrina pachyderma at site D5-12, which is located at 62.50°S, 39.74°W with a water depth of 2,556 m, in the northwest Weddell Sea. This dataset aims to reveal the mechanisms of planktonic foraminiferal calcification and the CaCO3 pump in the Southern Ocean, as well as their climatic effects. The data file comprises the following parameters for N. pachyderma: foraminiferal shell size (FS), foraminiferal shell area density (FAD), foraminiferal shell flux (FF), foraminiferal mass accumulation rate (FMAR), fragmented shell ratio, and fragmented shell content. These parameters serve as proxies for tracing the evolution of its calcification and CaCO3 productivity. Additionally, the data file includes the total CaCO₃ MAR, >63 μm fraction, and opal MAR data from site D5-12. These data, together with the aforementioned data, are used to reconstruct the evolution of the biological pump's structure and intensity at this site.
