Scripts and data to reproduce analysis used in the paper “Biogeographic origin shapes environmental filtering of alpine plants in the Dinaric Alps,” by Vrábel et al. 2026 — Alpine Botany. Contact person: Branislav Vrábel, branislavrabel@gmail.com The repository includes the following folders. The repository includes the following folders.> `Rscript`: scripts that read files in `data` . Scripts are tested on R 4.4.2 and 4.5. This material contains 11 scripts that document the full analytical workflow in the exact order in which the analyses were conducted. > `data`: Due to authorship and data-sharing restrictions, full table of vegetaion plot is not included. Specifically, three input files are included: spe.csv (proportions of biogeographical elements in each plot) env_analysis.xlsx (environmental variables used in the analysis) grid_spe_cluster.csv (species presence–absence matrix across the European reference grid, used for the biogeographical classification of species) species_clusters.csv (final species-to-biogeographical-element assignments; Euro+Med nomenclature) spe_genues_fil.csv (species following GBIF nomenclature) coordinates.csv (geographic coordinates of vegetation plots) These datasets are sufficient to run the majority of the scripts and reproduce the analytical framework. However, it is important to note the following limitations: Scripts 5,6 and 11 cannot be executed with the provided data, as they depend on the full vegetation-plot dataset, which is not publicly available due to authorship restrictions. These scripts are included for transparency and to document key preprocessing and analytical steps in the workflow. All remaining scripts are fully functional using the provided CSV files.
