Data are results of chemical analyses of soil samples collected in the Tierberg Karoo Research Centre (TKRC) livestock exclosure between 1987 and 1998, and on nearby ranches (Argentina, Sandrivier). Soils were collected from plains, drainage lines and zoogenic structures (soil mounds over the nests of termites and ants). In some cases topsoil and subsoil were analysed separately. Soil analyses were all carried out by agricultural soil laboratories.
