资源简介:
This dataset supports a grounded theory study on the cultural configuration mechanisms in Lin Shu’s (林纾, 1852-1924) literary translations. It provides complete qualitative evidence tracing the analytical journey from raw text to theoretical abstraction.Data Composition The dataset consists of three interconnected components:1. Primary Textual Corpus Digitized excerpts from five representative translations by Lin Shu (co-translated with Wei Yi):•Abei Chuan (《黑奴吁天录》, Uncle Tom’s Cabin)•Jiayin Xiaozhuan (《迦茵小传》, Joan Haste)•Kuairou Yusheng Shu (《块肉余生述》, David Copperfield)•Bali Chahuanü Yishi (《巴黎茶花女遗事》, La Dame aux Camélias)•Sakexun Jiehou Yingxiong Lue(《撒克逊劫后英雄略》,Ivanhoe)Texts are preserved in their original Classical Chinese with source editions noted (primarily商务印书馆, 1901–1914).2. Grounded Theory Coding Framework A hierarchical spreadsheet documenting the three-stage coding process:•Open Coding: 73 initial concepts extracted from textual analysis•Axial Coding: 21 categories organized into 6 main categories•Selective Coding: Core categories forming the theoretical modelAll categories and subcategories are systematically numbered with illustrative quotations from the original texts.3. Theoretical Memos 21 analytical memos written throughout the coding process (March 2025–January 2026), documenting the emergence of core categories, comparisons between texts, and the progressive refinement of concepts until theoretical saturation. Usage Notes This dataset enables verification of the study's interpretations and supports replication or extension studies in translation studies, late Qing intellectual history, and qualitative methodology.
