资源简介:
This project focuses on nationally recognised strategic areas for eradication and active management of prickly acacia, parkinsonia and mesquite in the Lake Eyre catchments of Queensland. The project’s focus is on protecting natural assets that are listed under the EPBC, such as listed species or communities, as well as WONS outliers that are threatening the conservation estate. The project will target the outlier prickle bush locations for eradication, to ensure they do not result in any further threat to the species or communities listed under the EPBC. Such control of these weed species will also complement the national strategies for the weeds. Within the project, Desert Channels Queensland (DCQ) will coordinate and support stakeholders in mapping, raising awareness and control of strategic infestations of these woody weeds – preventing their spread further south-west in the Lake Eyre Basin.
