Replication Data: Taxonomic structure and spatial distribution of aquatic invertebrates from temporary wetlands after a severe drought event in southern Brazil

The data reflects the study that accessed fourteen temporary wetlands to characterize their limnological conditions and invertebrate communities. Wetland area was estimated in Google Earth, depth measured at random points, and physical–chemical variables obtained with a Horiba® multiparameter probe. One-liter water samples were collected for total nitrogen and phosphorus analyses following standard protocols. Invertebrates were sampled at three random points per wetland using a 250 μm D-net and preserved for laboratory identification at the lowest possible taxonomic level. Data processing included PCA for environmental variables, descriptive metrics of richness, abundance, and diversity, and NMDS and hierarchical clustering (Bray–Curtis) for taxonomic composition, performed in R (v4.5.1) with vegan and ggplot2.
