Retirement Spending by Age from CE PUMD 2024: Medians, Tenure Splits and BRR Standard Errors
收藏资源简介:
Household spending by age of reference person (55-64, 65-74, 75+) computed from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure Public-Use Microdata, Interview survey, 2024. BLS Table 1300 publishes means; this dataset adds weighted medians, the housing-tenure split, and BRR standard errors from the 44 replicate weights. The mean sits about 30 percent above the median in every cohort. Method was pre-registered before computation; three pre-registered decisions proved wrong (one off by a factor of three) and are recorded as amendments rather than edited. All figures reconciled against BLS Table 1300 before release: household counts within 0.3 percent, income within 1 percent, totals within about 2 percent. Food is deliberately excluded - it is predominantly a Diary-survey item and reconciles at only 0.55-0.62 on Interview-only microdata.
