资源简介:
Introduction: Nurses play a crucial role in the detection and prevention of tobacco-related diseases, despite manufacturers openly highlighting the consequences of tobacco use and the fact that tobacco use is a risk factor for the four most prevalent non-communicable diseases (NCDs) worldwide, and tobacco use persists. Objective: To identify nursing intervention models for tobacco prevention in the Americas through an integrative review. Methods: This was an integrative review of literature from 2014 to 2024. Articles were included using quantitative and qualitative methodology, extracted from available databases such as Google Scholar, BMC, Scielo, ScienceDirect BVS, and PUBMED. PRISMA 2020 criteria and a collaborative matrix were used for data analysis. Results: Common patterns were identified in 21 studies that highlight the key role of nursing staff in smoking cessation, with a crucial role from primary care. The interventions applied include brief, intensive, and telephone counseling. The success of the intervention depends on self-efficacy, which is key to adopting healthy individual behaviors. Conclusions: Nursing-led interventions are characterized by a comprehensive approach that combines educational interventions, psychological support, and ongoing follow-up. Nursing interventions are usually tailored to each individual's stage of smoking, allowing for individualized and personalized strategies tailored to everyone’s needs.
