Monochamus galloprovincialis official trapping data

The data provided relate to temporal and spatial monitoring of Monochamus sp. implemented in France since 2012. This beetle is the vector of a priority quarantine organism in the territory of the Union, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus. Every year, official monitoring is carried out on the national territory, in accordance with European regulations (article 24 of Regulation (EU) 2016/2031), and thousands of insects are collected and analyzed in the laboratory to search for the presence of the pinewood nematode. This data, centralized by the ESV Platform, is collected by various field structures (DSF, SRALs, FREDONs, etc.) within the framework of agreements with the ministry in charge of agriculture and its regional services. The traps used are of the Crosstrap type, baited with pheromones, Galloprotect Pack or Galloprotect 2D. It is important to note that the insects are euthanized on site using an insecticide integrated into the trap. All Monochamus collected and analyzed for Bursaphelenchus xylophilus gave a negative result.
