We developed the novel CRISPR/Cas9 system in the rodent malaria parasites Plasmodium berghei. We conducted a genome-wide sequence analysis of the parental line pbcas9 and the mutant parasites after the genetic modification of non-essential gene (imc1i) to investigate whether the off-target mutation was introduced.
