The western fence lizard, Sceloporus occidentalis, is a widespread species native to the western US and northern Mexico. Western fence lizards are diurnal, approximately 5.5-9.0 cm long (snout-vent length), occur in a wide variety of habitats, and are light tan to dark brown in color with bright blue ventral patches.. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
