Introduction: Côte d'Ivoire was formerly known as the Ivory Coast. A former French colony who gained independence in 1960, it is now referred to by the French name. Côte d'Ivoire is located on western coast of Africa on the Atlantic Ocean. Physical Geography : Côte d'Ivoire has a long coastline on the Atlantic Ocean and has low revelations, near sea level. It is bordered by Ghana coastline to the East and Liberia coastline to the West. Major river's include the Sassandra and Weather and Climate:The majority of the county is south of the Transition Zone and has a Type A, tropical climate, with only a small northern area above the line in the Desert Type B dry climate.
