"The proposed pit is located in the southwestern quadrant of the intersection of S.C. Route 230 (Martintown Road) and S-309 (Bunting Road), within the boundaries of the city of North Augusta. The area consists of a sloping piney wood with a few small hardwood saplings and a moderately dense understory of vines and brambles. It measures approximately 400 by 400 feet (3.6 acres).
