Sedimentary records of volcanic-hydrothermal activity at the Daxi Vent Field on a non-transform offset of the slow-spreading Carlsberg Ridge

This dataset supports the manuscript entitled “Sedimentary records of volcanic–hydrothermal activity at the Daxi Vent Field on a non-transform offset of the slow-spreading Carlsberg Ridge.” The dataset contains geochemical and chronological data for sediment samples collected at different distances from the Daxi Vent Field, including proximal (<350 m), sub-proximal (350–1000 m), and distal (>1000 m) sites. The uploaded files include sample and station information, major- and trace-element concentrations, rare earth element concentrations and calculated Ce and Eu anomalies, radiocarbon dating results, planktonic foraminiferal δ18O data, dry bulk density, sedimentation rates, and age–depth information. The dataset also includes calculated detrital and hydrothermal Fe and Cu components and their accumulation fluxes in core 2024RH-GC05. These data were used to characterize the distance-dependent attenuation of hydrothermal signals around the Daxi Vent Field and to reconstruct two episodes of enhanced hydrothermal activity and associated volcanic events during the past approximately 32.4 ka.
