Images and GIS Data from a Watching Brief at Well Head, Brockworth, Gloucestershire, March 2024

This collection consists of images and GIS data from a watching brief by Cotswolds Archaeology at Well Head, Brockworth, Gloucestershire, in March 2024. The groundworks revealed a worked limestone block that formed part of the lining of the well shaft. The partially demolished remains of the eastern wall of the Grade II listed well head building were also identified, with evidence that material from the collapse of this structure was used to infill the well itself. The remains of the eastern side of the structure that have survived in situ have been fully revealed in preparation for conservation.
