These are the calculations for determining the minimum level of detection thresholds used to mask areas of uncertain topographic change in the Evans et al. Sawyer Mill dam removal reservoir response manuscript. These thresholds were applied to the DoDs representing the various study areas throughout the Bellamy River Reservoir (Dover, NH, USA) to evaluate topographic changes associated with dam removal. The method used for calculating the minimum level of detection threshold (minLoD) was adapted from Marteau et al. (2017). Please see the manuscript and the spreadsheet for additional information.
