Soil microbial communities in 2 sites in Malawi, which were collected to be investigated effects of cultivation on them. All the 2 sites had neibouring 2 land-uses (natural and agricultural (maize)), and both of them had 3 of 1 x 1 m plot separated from each other by 20 m. A plot had 3 replications. In total, DNA was extracted from 18 natural and 18 agricultural soils, and the 16S rRNA region was sequenced to elucidate the bacterial community.
