Data set descriptionThe data was generated during the study 'Dramatically Temperature-Driven Variations in Silicone-Gelatin Elastomers for Extrusion & Shape Memory Applications' and it contains the raw data of the study. The data set is divided into eleven folders each corresponding to the characterization methods used in the study. The description of the content of each folder can be found in the file named 'Readme'.Project descriptionThe project focused on how the introduction of proteins as fillers can impact silicone elastomers’ properties. A model system was developed from aminopropyl-polydimethylsiloxane and gelatin hydrogel, which can form emulsion-based mixtures that subsequently can be crosslinked into elastomers. An in-depth characterization of the materials was performed, and it was found that the elastomers obtained from the two types of mixtures have distinct properties, notably showing different mechanical properties, solvent absorption, and friction behavior.
