Addressing loss to follow-up in antiretroviral adherence

The dataset captures insights from Community Health Workers (CHWs) regarding the factors contributing to the loss to follow-up of patients on antiretroviral therapy (ART) within an informal settlement in the Tshwane district. Given their frontline role in patient care, CHWs provide a unique perspective on the challenges faced by individuals living with HIV in maintaining adherence to treatment. The dataset includes CHWs' observations on structural, socio-economic, and health system-related barriers that contribute to patient disengagement from ART. It highlights issues such as mobility, stigma, medication side effects, lack of social support, and systemic gaps in healthcare delivery.
