Physiological jaundice in newborns is one of the most common conditions in the neonatal period and is associated with the immaturity of bilirubin metabolism. The aim of this study is to comprehensively evaluate the clinical, morphological, and physiological characteristics of physiological jaundice in newborns, as well as to improve diagnostic and treatment approaches. A total of 250 newborns in the neonatal period were observed in this study. Clinical parameters, laboratory biomarkers, and liver functional status were analyzed. The results demonstrated a strong correlation between bilirubin levels and the degree of hepatocyte maturity (r = 0.71). The proposed comprehensive approach enables early diagnosis and effective treatment.
