Index case of the first outbreak of BTV-3 in Denmark 2024

EDTA-blood from a dead sheep with clinical signs of BT, such as erosion and sores in the oral cavity and an enlarged tongue. Located in Tønder, Denmark. Sample was positive in two indpendent RT-qPCRs. The sample was shotgun sequenced by Illumina MiSeq. The genome segments were assembled using a hybrid approach with denovo assembly (MEGAHIT and metaSPAdes) and reference mapping.
