S. frugiperda fed with bx3 maize mutant and its control genotype B73 AND fed with bx1 maize mutant and its control genotype H88. The bx1 mutant is derived from the insertion of a Mu element within the Bx1 gene in a H88 genetic background (Hamilton 1964). Similarly, the bx3 mutant was obtained in the genotype B73 by insertion of a Mu element in the Bx3 gene (Frey, Chomet et al. 1997). The bx1 mutant is derived from the insertion of a Mu element within the Bx1 gene in a H88 genetic background (Hamilton 1964). Similarly, the bx3 mutant was obtained in the genotype B73 by insertion of a Mu element in the Bx3 gene (Frey, Chomet et al. 1997). 3 biological replicates with Cy3-cy5 dye swap tissue: L6 larva midgut treatment1: larvae feeding for 24h on 10-days-old bx3 plants and B73 control genotype. Total of 6 microarrays: M1: bx3rep1cy3 + B73rep1cy5 M2: B73rep1cy3 + bx3rep1cy5 M3: bx3rep2cy3 + B73rep2cy5 M4: B73rep2cy3 + bx3rep2cy5 M5: bx3rep3cy3 + B73rep3cy5 M6: B73rep3cy3 + bx3rep3cy5 treatment2: larvae feeding for 24h on 10-days-old bx1 plants and H88 control genotype. Total of 6 microarrays: M1: bx13rep1cy3 + H88rep1cy5 M2: H88rep1cy3 + bx1rep1cy5 M3: bx1rep2cy3 + H88rep2cy5 M4: H88rep2cy3 + bx1rep2cy5 M5: bx1rep3cy3 + H88rep3cy5 M6: H88rep3cy3 + bx1rep3cy5 normalization was done within array using loess method and normalization between arrays using quantile method (limma package bioconductor).
