The data contains new estimates for black carbon emissions from flaring in Russia for the period 2012-2017.
Flaring locations and the flared gas volume were estimated from Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS).
Black carbon emissions at flare sites were calculated based on oil and gas field-type-specific emission factors.
