Um Modelo Matemático para Estimativas do Consumo de Energia em Redes de Sensores Visuais sem Fio

ABSTRACT Wireless sensor networks have an important role in the current scenario of new communication technologies, focused on Internet of Things and Smart Cities applications. In those networks, energy issues are central, since many wireless sensor networks are developed to operate with battery-operated sensors. In such way, the proper planning of wireless sensor networks is required for good performance and there are some techniques to assess the performance of those networks without requiring deployment of real sensors. This article proposes a new mathematical model to assess energy consumption in camera-enabled sensors, allowing relevant measurements before deployment of physical networks. Besides this innovate mathematical model, a new tool was developed, referred as EnergyWVSN, aimed at the support of practical usage of the proposed model.
